This is a sandbox style role play that is based in a Southern Californian named Ocean City.
This town is home to a prestigious high school and university that students from all over flock to. The school is home to the best teachers in the state and hosts an eclectic variety of students from all over the world. Students have the option to live on campus and in between classes on the weekend are able to roam the town. There is always some kind of event going on. In this role play you can role play high school students, teachers, college students, and the town residents! We encourage character development and being able to follow your character through different stages of life encourages that.
This town is on the water and offers many events for every season along with the schools offering their own events as well. There are many chances to foster positive relationships between characters but this is a slice of life so drama and enemies are bound to be made!
Also, don't think your secrets are safe because there are those who patrol the tides of gossip and report all the going ons in the town gossip blog. Here everyone’s dirty laundry is presented, it’s up to the characters to believe it and do whatever they want with it.
Our members are funny and brimming with sarcasm, we look forward to our new members so we can add to the student and staff populations while further growing our characters and challenging ourselves in our writing skills. Most of our conversations happen off site in our own chat room, which we have a link posted above in the toggled section, until then if you have any questions go ahead and post them in the CBOX, we will get back to you as soon as possible!
Have fun looking around, we hope to meet you soon!

At this time Tidwater is, unfortunately, on an indefinite hiatus. All active members have regrouped and started a new rol play forum.

Marcy knocked on the door of Cassie’s house, her arms crossed in their usual fashion, a scowl placed on her face as she stared down at her phone, unable to believe the way Kyle was acting. She knew if she complained to Cassie, she’d say it was because his name was Kyle. Kyle’s were always fuckboys according to an unwritten rule she had no idea about. She didn’t care, she gave everyone a chance, because in the end, Marcy wanted them to give her a chance.
“Girl, it’s eight in the morning…” Cassie groaned, rubbing her face as she opened the door to let Marcy in. It was a ritual though; she should be used to this by now. Every time a fuckboy ruined Marcy’s life, she forgot Cassie wasn’t a morning person and was often up late and would show up as soon as possible.
“Please, I showed up at the same time I always do.” Marcy claimed, stepping past her friend and into her room, dropping her purse off on the side table as if she lived here, which she might as well live there, she was over all the time. “Tell me why Kyle decided to tell me he didn’t think this relationship was going anywhere, and dumped me?” she asked Cassie, wondering what she did wrong this time. Though this wasn’t unusual, guys often dumped her quickly when they realized how loud she was, how blunt she was, and how she often didn’t tip toe around people’s feelings. She hadn’t even gotten to the heavy stuff, she saved that for the ones that got past her personality, though that was far and few between. It was one, one guy she’d fallen for and regretted when she had to pull out a big skeleton from her closet.
“I told you, guys named Kyle are fuckboys.”
“Yes, yes, I know… I just… I just hope that giving them a chance even though I know the outcome, would increase my chances of… Being given that same curtesy.” She sighed and slid onto the couch, draping herself over the armrest dramatically.
Cassie gave her a sympathetic look, though she didn’t know the feeling. “I’m sorry. The right guy will come along.”
Marcy sat up and rolled her eyes, “You sound like my mother.” She sat back on the couch and crossed her arms, only waiting for about two seconds before pulling out her phone and redownloading Tinder, for the fifth time this year; it was only March.
Cassie sat down next to her and held out a champagne glass with orange juice and Marcy was guessing champagne, but as she took the glass, she noted Cassie wasn’t drinking from a champagne glass, but just plain water.
She narrowed her eyes at her, “Is there something you’re about to tell me?” she was scared and excited. She had a feeling in her gut that her best friend was about to tell her big news. She was pregnant. With that thought in mind, her heart soared for a few feet, and then started falling.
Cassie smiled big, “Um. Yeah. I’m pregnant.” She looked down at her glass in her hand, not acting excited and just keeping calm when she should be screaming with joy. Cassie always wanted kids eventually.
“Cassie that’s amazing!” Marcy wrapped her free arm around Cassie and pulled her into a hug, trying to hide her sadness and jealousy. She knew her friend wasn’t acting happy about it because of her. She didn’t want her to feel like she had to not feel that way.
“Marcy, I don’t care what happens, but I want you to be the child’s godmother.”
“Of course! Your little bugger is my little bugger.” It was the closest thing she’d get to having a child after all.
She found out she was barren when she was sixteen.
I clap my hands slowly with you two. Finley and Theo. You two know how to make this so satisfying to watch. It means what I'm about to post, will create some amazing drama.
Finley, did you really think he thought you were cute? I messaged two players this round, and Theo picked dare.
And I dared him to ask you out on a date.
I was hoping you'd take my dare, because I would have dared you to say no, even though I know you secretly liked him, at least a little then. Possibly a lot just until recently. Until you found out he he asked you out to keep his little secret.
a secret
But Finley. You said yes. You agreed to his date and I couldn't help but chuckle when I realized you never gave me an answer. So guess what sweetheart, let me help you out with you decision to either forgive Theo or not.
Finley's in the closet. She swings for the other team. In other words, she's not straight.
Sorry Theo, best move on, it'll be tough in the beginning because I know how much you really liked her. OH well!

The town of Ocean City was quiet except for some birds calling to each other, a few shop owners starting to open their places, and a slight breeze blew past Thomas as he ran through the empty streets of downtown. Ever since she left, this was the route he ran. He started at the school, then to the fountain, followed by the beach, and last, the boardwalk, heading back to the school after. It was the route they had taken that first night they met, and he would never forget it.
He slowed down as he approached the fountain, the water not running now since there wasn’t anyone to see it except for a handful of people. But he didn’t care if it was on, he could still see the memory unfolding. Ciera, sitting on the fountain, looking gorgeous yet sad. He remembered the drawing he had done of her, the one the Lighthouse had tried to use against him as if he should be ashamed of his talent, though maybe he and Ciera jumped the gun too soon, basically dating by the end of that first night, but the idea of not falling immediately, seemed impossible.
Once he stretched for a few minutes and caught his breath, he continued onto the beach, where the two of them headed after the fountain. He remembered taking off his shoes and despite having his sketchpad, he remembered carrying it all in one arm with his shoes and still held onto her hand. He couldn’t remember what they talked about, but they never stopped talking, so it must have been interesting at the time. He could remember the way her smile was so bright; he was sure it outshined the moon that night.
Of course, the boardwalk was closed at this hour, no one would be here for another three hours to start opening the amusement park, but he took another breather and stretched while at the gate. His thoughts went immediately to the end of the night here, where he asked her to his girlfriend even though they had just met hours ago. Something just told him he and Ciera were meant to meet, that it was fate she had been sad and gorgeous at the fountain, that he wouldn’t be able to resist drawing her.
He always hated leaving the boardwalk on his runs, because returning to the school, meant remembering that it all came crashing down. Ciera had to go back home, though they still talked, it wasn’t the same as having her here. And now, he was graduating, and heading into the Marines like his father wanted. He hadn’t told Ciera of his decision yet, he was afraid she’d be disappointed in him, because he had expressed his dislike to follow his father’s footsteps and wanted to attend college.
He left the amusement park and made a slow jog towards Tidewater, feeling his heart drop with every step. Ciera was gone, he was about to leave, everything they knew and had here, was going to be lost. As he rounded towards the school, he slowed down, letting all the memories he had just thought of slowly disappear. He’d be back, he make sure to return to Ocean City, maybe Ciera would too.
The next player is very close to the last player. Hope you have fun trying to figure that one out. I'm pretty sure a few people will be sweating it out.
You have 24 hours to respond with Truth or Dare. You can see how well ignoring it goes, and doing the dare seems to go well.
Playby: Angelica Anderson Note: 4/9 - 9 months pregnant
The sound of the baby’s heart on the monitor made Cassie’s headache worsen with each pump of it. The headache wasn’t because of the baby itself; it was more from the fact that she was single, not even talking to anyone, and here she was. Pregnant. She couldn’t help but fear her baby would end up in a broken family like her.
“Alright, is it too soon to know the gender?”
“Marcy, please.” Cassie rolled her eyes, not ready to find out if she was having a girl or not when she had other issues to think about first.
“Sorry, I got kind of excited. You’re pregnant! Aren’t you happy?” Marcy asked, knowing Cassie wanted kids, she just didn’t know the extent of it.
Cassie sighed, she was happy, ecstatic even. She just couldn’t show it right now as flash backs of her growing up with her dad walking out on them one day, her mother almost killing herself over it, and barely being able to provide for them after she moved on. Her mother was cold and distant now, and barely talked to Cassie at all.
“You know you won’t be like that Cassie, you can easily provide whatever you need for the kid.” Marcy had a point.
Cassie owned multiple Tattoo shops that had amazing following of loyal clients. She wasn’t a millionaire, but she was doing well off. She still had that worry though and had always wanted to be married before having kids. Or at least, in a relationship.
A few seconds of silence fell before Marcy spoke again, breaking the silence as she always did. “Do you know who the father is?”
Cassie sighed at the question, “Yea. I do.” She knew who it was because Leo was the only one she’d been sleeping with the past six months. They hadn’t become exclusive, they’d just been friendly, flirty, and ended up fooling around. She eyed Marcy from the side, knowing she’d probably judge her because he was after all, one of her number one client before he moved.
“Oh… I know that look. You didn’t… Did you.” Marcy narrowed her eyes at her, glaring into her soul to speak the truth, even if she already knew with Cassie having to tell her.
Cassie ran a hand through her hair, “Yup… I did.” Was all she said, feeling a little stressed about the situation. She didn’t know where he had moved to, wasn’t sure he would want to even have a kid or want to be in the kid’s life, but she had to try if she wanted to have a family that didn’t fall apart. “I have to find out where he moved to, I can’t tell him the news over the phone.”
“Oh, leave that to me.” Macy smirked, pulling out her phone, and doing what Cassie hated to do. Be on social media.
It was only going to be a matter of time before Marcy learned where Leo had moved to, and Cassie would fly out as soon as she could. She only hoped that he would be happy to see her at all. She felt the worry of raising a child alone in a broken family sent chills down her spine, making her do something she had never done before; prayed that Leo wouldn't push her away.

"So, you really are just going to disappear?"
The voice left on the voicemail sounded like they weren't convinced, but Autumn had plans to do just that. She didn't want to be in the spotlight anymore, she didn't want to be photographed every second of the day. For once, she wanted to be behind the scenes, be the one to take the photos. She regretted now how she never really took pictures of her friends and family. Maybe if she had, she wouldn't be feeling like the world, and her friends, were against her.
"Come on Autumn, you love the spotlight. You'll be back in a week."
The sound of the phone hanging up and the messaging ending was a relief to Autumn. She never really liked Milly as a friend, she knew she was only using her because of her status as a celebrity. She thought she wanted to be the next big star, but when it happened, it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. When she wanted privacy, she didn't get it, and when she wanted to be out and about, no one else did. She was constantly at everyone else's beck and call, she was ready to focus on herself. Milly would have to get over not having a famous friend to rely on, Autumn figured she would find someone else to suck the life out of when she didn't return.
"I plan on driving until I can't drive anymore." Autumn told herself, planning to settle roots wherever her car came to with an empty gas tank.
Three am was not the time to run out of gas, but here Autumn was, pulling into a smallish town called Oceancity. The only think she knew about the town was the prestigious high school and college that was set up here. She pulled into the first gas station at the edge of town next to the hospital and pulled up next to a pump.
"Well. Guess this is home now." Autumn said as she reached over to grab her purse to by gas with before she tried to find a place to crash until she could buy a house of her own.
Now that everyone has been introduced to the game and seen the consequences, should you decide not to respond, it's time to pick another player.
The next person I message, has 24 hours to respond with Truth or Dare. And if you don't, expect a secret to be leaked. Just ask Shannon how well that went.
This isn't just a stupid game, you have every right to not play along, but know that there are
Consequences
I expected better from you, former queen of high school, now just an ice queen, but recently, a bit of a softie. Never thought you of all people would have
A friend
Now, I wonder if you told your lovely new friend Vaya, about why Carter went crazy and shot up the school... It couldn't be because of you, could it?
Could it?
[Insert video of Carter banging on Shannon's door, screaming her name]
Anyone else bored with the gossip lately? How would you like to spice it up? I know I would, and here's the plan.
We are going to play, you guessed it obviously, Truth or Dare. The rules are simple, follow them, and you wont have to worry about your little secrets getting out. Ignore my threats, and I promise you will regret it.
Now, for the rules.
I will send a prompt to one person only, they are not allowed to tell ANYONE they were picked. Don't worry, I will know if you do.
That student will then have 24 hours to respond with either truth or dare.
Pick truth, and obviously I will reveal one of your secrets (If you have multiple, and there are multiple secrets)
Pick dare, and I'll obviously give you a challenge.
Should you not respond within the 24 hours, I'll post one of your secrets anyways, but which one?

Jessie stumbled in the hallway, her books flying across the floor, papers scattering everywhere, and of course, everyone around her was laughing. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose as she started gathering all her textbooks, papers, and her true crime paraphernalia before anyone else could help or laugh at her some more.
“What a fucking loser.”
“She’s totally a sociopath.”
“Why did the school allow such a psycho to attend”
It wasn’t the first time Jessie had heard the insults, and if she continued to attend this school, it wouldn’t the last. After she gathered all her belonging and raced out of the hallway, she pulled out her phone and headphones, and started up the latest true crime podcasts she was currently obsessed with. She didn’t think she was a loser or a psycho if there were other people just as obsessed as she was with murder and serial killers, but maybe there was something wrong with her. She couldn’t help but be brought back to the moment she knew she became obsessed. When her detective father introduced her first cold case, and one that would stick with her forever.
“Daddy, I can’t sleep.” A young eleven-year-old Jessie walked into the kitchen where her father was working. He had boxes and papers strewn about, his laptop was open with more notes to go over, and a cup of coffee that had been filled multiple times already.
“Hey sweetie, did you have a nightmare?” Her dad reached down and picked her up, placing her in his lap.
“I thought I saw mommy in the window… She was asking for help.” Jessie felt herself shiver and hid her face into her dad’s chest, wanting the image of someone that looked like her mother, but wasn’t, out of her mind.
Her dad sighed as he rubbed her back in comfort, “Don’t worry. It was just a nightmare.” He knew no one would be able to be looking through the window on the fifth floor of their apartment building, but he wasn’t sure how to keep her from having these nightmares that didn’t involve drugging her.“Do you want to help me look over this case?” he asked, wondering if he could distract her with a case. She had enjoyed playing the murder mystery game, maybe it would help calm her down.
Jessie excitedly turned from her father to the table in front of them and clapped her hands. “Yes! I love mysteries.” She said, putting her hands on the edge of the table because she was taught not to touch any evidence.
“Alright, a young woman was found murdered in a ditch.” He started out with the basic details of how she was found, but didn’t give all the details not wanting to frighten her, but he was beginning to see that nothing really did, except her own nightmares.

“Honey, I don't understand what’s going on or why you broke off your engagement if you don’t tell me.”
Natalie could hear the concern in her mother’s voice, but the thought of bringing up the reason she left made her feel like she was going to relive it again. She didn’t want to think about walking into her apartment that she paid for, finding her fiancé in bed with her cousin. “I got cold feet.” It was the lie she kept telling everyone who asked why she broke it off with James.
“Sarah is concerned, she says you aren’t answering her calls, why? She’s been crying every day since you left.”
Hearing her cousins name sent her blood boiling as she tried not to scream about what Sarah had done. She bet she was crying all day, apparently James had dumped her after Natalie had broken off the engagement and moved across the country. He didn’t want to have anything to do with her, thinking it would bring Natalie back into his life.
“I’m sure she has, but she’s a big girl and can deal with it.” She replied through gritted teeth, trying to keep her anger from bubbling, though she couldn’t stop the tears from flowing.
She heard her mother sigh in defeat, knowing she was giving up now, but she’d call back again. This was how it had been for the past few weeks after she ended things and moved to Ocean City to try and get away from it all. She just needed time and she needed everyone else to understand that. "I don't know what happened, but I just want to make sure you are alright." The concern returning to her mothers tone once again made Natalie feel a little guilty.
“Mom, I’m sorry. I can’t… I can’t explain right now, I just need time.” She hoped her mother would understand. She didn’t want to cut ties with her mother completely, but she didn’t want every conversation to be an interrogation.
“Alright, I understand. Call me if you need anything at all.”
“Well, there is one thing you and dad can do for me. Want to invest in my new business?”
