She tends to stay at home more often, playing games and reading books instead of venturing out and creating human relationships. She prefers the company of animals over humans as well, they never judge and are always happy to see her. Romantic- She's always been a sucker for romance books and movies and with the history she had in high school she still believes in things like true love, though she doesn't necessarily believe she is lucky enough to experience it again. She still has a little bit of hope in her, but doesn't try to overthink things only to be disappointed in the end. Day Dreamer- Her mind often wanders, especially in classes that she holds little interest in. She likes to craft stories in her heads and dreams of the life ahead of her, thinking of graduating college and becoming a teacher one day or maybe a counselor. She dreams of her future home and a husband along with the possibility of kids, but the process of getting to that next step in her life terrifies her. Care Taker- She has always been someone who cares for others, she likes being able to be their support and provide them with that they need and even though it's been hard, she finds peace in taking care of those who may not be as strong as her or needs more attention than others. She puts others firsts and likes the distraction from her own problems. Let me know when it's time to come back Maybe when your life is on track And you don't have to hesitate  Hopefully it isn't too late Luckily for you, I'm patient I'm okay with your making me wait Her parents had planned on having a big family filled with love and happiness, something they didn't get to have when they grew up. Jon and Emily were two low burning flames until they met each other. Both from abusive homes empty of love so when they got together it was like the world wasn't against them for once. They were high school sweetheart who powered through every hard ship until finally getting married, finding jobs, and able to settle down though they didn't stay settled for long. Emily broke the news to Jon that she was pregnant and he was ecstatic. The two were finally getting closer to the goal of having their own family and eagerly planned for the next nine months. When their daughter was born they spoiled her every chance they got and kept her away from their toxic families. Ciera was the one thing they wanted untouched by the cruelty of the world and for the first five years that's how it was. Jon was taking Ciera to school on a cold winter morning when his car hit a patch of black ice and went sliding, crashing into a tree. Jon didn't survive, leaving Emily a young widow to take care of Ciera. As she grew up Ciera's Mom went on a few dates but no one could compare to her husband in her eyes so she turned her attention to her daughter, instilling in her the values and characteristics she found important and the two were thick as thieves, but Emily wanted the best for her daughter, so once Ciera was in high school her Mom encouraged her to apply for scholarships to go to Tidewater and though it took some prodding, Ciera did it to make her Mom proud. She went across the country to school and worked hard, being one of the top students in her class and and a star soccer player. She took school very seriously, except for the moments where she was able to get away and practice her art. She loved to paint and draw and would often sit out in the courtyard sketching when she didn't have home work and on one of those days when she was so focused on drawing she was being drawn herself, by someone who became very important to her. Thomas Deller was a fellow student who enjoyed art almost as much as Ciera did and he found her the perfect subject that day. It was a like a scene out of a movie when Thomas finished and walked over to Ciera, showing her what she had done. The gesture had stunned her, taking her off guard and she was smitten with him. The two became friends and eventually fell in love. Ciera's Mom had even met him and gave approval on a time when she came to visit and Ciera continued to fall hard, thinking that Thomas would be the one for her forever. But, unlike in movies, it didn't last. And as long as you're near, I'll be here Even if it takes ten years Can't fall in love, when I found the one  How am I supposed to move on When you're never really too far gone The memories won't go away In the start of her junior year Ciera's mother gave her the news that she had breast cancer. Ciera couldn't help but panic, not knowing what to do and at first her Mom told her not to worry and that she was sure it would be fine so Ciera stayed at school, but anxiety plagued her, especially when her mother started to decline. By the end of her Junior year Ciera couldn't control it, she had to go be with her Mom, not knowing if her mom would live or not but all she knew was that she didn't want to miss out on time with her, even though she hated being away from Thomas. He reassured her that it would be okay and that they would continue to talk and he would be there for her and she believed him. She didn't return for her senior year, instead living with her mom and going to school in her home town, though her heart ached and she struggled to focus. Her grades dropped a bit but she managed to handle her homework, take care of her mom, and talk to Thomas as much as she could even though they wouldn't be able to physically be together. Ciera had no means to travel to California and Thomas's parents, unknown to her, didn't encourage their relationship, instead making it harder for him to talk to her and once they graduated it was like he had disappeared. One day he stopped responding to her text and calls and she felt her heart break, realizing he must have finally gotten tired of her. That combined with her mothers decline Ciera opted to not go to college right away. She took off the next few years until the day the cancer became too much and Emily passed away, leaving Ciera completely alone. Ciera powered through it all alone with the exception of some help from hospital staff to take care of her mom but after that she was left managing the home and trying to figure out what to do with everything. At first she just sat around trying to cope until one day she decided she couldn't do it anymore. She sold off almost everything, keeping whatever she wanted in storage and made a plan to start college. She didn't feel like she belonged in her hometown anymore, the sad stares and comments were too much and on a whim she applied to Tidewater University and got in. She saw it as a sign and moved back to Ocean City, though living her has proven tough as well as she see's all the places she and Thomas used to go to, it still makes her heart hurt but she manages, thinking that maybe one day she will find love again, though every time she thinks of it all she see's is Thomas's face. She tries to focus on school and work now, setting small goals to get through the day, thankful that she able to have these opportunities and keep a roof over her head. I feel pain every time I hear your name But I always think of you the same Family:

Welcome to Tidewater!
This is a sandbox style role play that is based in a Southern Californian named Ocean City.
This town is home to a prestigious high school and university that students from all over flock to. The school is home to the best teachers in the state and hosts an eclectic variety of students from all over the world. Students have the option to live on campus and in between classes on the weekend are able to roam the town. There is always some kind of event going on. In this role play you can role play high school students, teachers, college students, and the town residents! We encourage character development and being able to follow your character through different stages of life encourages that.
This town is on the water and offers many events for every season along with the schools offering their own events as well. There are many chances to foster positive relationships between characters but this is a slice of life so drama and enemies are bound to be made!
Also, don't think your secrets are safe because there are those who patrol the tides of gossip and report all the going ons in the town gossip blog. Here everyone’s dirty laundry is presented, it’s up to the characters to believe it and do whatever they want with it.
Our members are funny and brimming with sarcasm, we look forward to our new members so we can add to the student and staff populations while further growing our characters and challenging ourselves in our writing skills.
