This is a sandbox style role play that is based in a Southern Californian named Ocean City.
This town is home to a prestigious high school and university that students from all over flock to. The school is home to the best teachers in the state and hosts an eclectic variety of students from all over the world. Students have the option to live on campus and in between classes on the weekend are able to roam the town. There is always some kind of event going on. In this role play you can role play high school students, teachers, college students, and the town residents! We encourage character development and being able to follow your character through different stages of life encourages that.
This town is on the water and offers many events for every season along with the schools offering their own events as well. There are many chances to foster positive relationships between characters but this is a slice of life so drama and enemies are bound to be made!
Also, don't think your secrets are safe because there are those who patrol the tides of gossip and report all the going ons in the town gossip blog. Here everyone’s dirty laundry is presented, it’s up to the characters to believe it and do whatever they want with it.
Our members are funny and brimming with sarcasm, we look forward to our new members so we can add to the student and staff populations while further growing our characters and challenging ourselves in our writing skills. Most of our conversations happen off site in our own chat room, which we have a link posted above in the toggled section, until then if you have any questions go ahead and post them in the CBOX, we will get back to you as soon as possible!
Have fun looking around, we hope to meet you soon!

At this time Tidwater is, unfortunately, on an indefinite hiatus. All active members have regrouped and started a new rol play forum.

Did I talk way too long when I told you all my feelings that night?
Is it you?
Is it me?
Did you find somebody better?
Name: Charles "Charlie" Lasse
Gender: Male
Birthday: November 8th
Age: 34
Orientation: Straight
Status: Separated
Play By: Can Yaman
Someone who isn't me, 'cause I know that I was never your type
Never really your type
Overthinking's got me drinking
Messing with my head
Tell me what you hate about me
Caring- Charlie is a sweet man who puts everyone else's needs before his own. He cares about others safety and wellbeing. His own self care usually takes the backseat until he burns himself out. His compassion drives him and he continues to try to be there for everyone else.
Amenable- He is easy to take advantage of because of his kindness and often doesn't realize it and if he does? He chalks it up to them really doing so because they need to. He doesn't have much a back bone. He may have a strong and powerful physique but he is a soft man who just wants to please everyone in any way that he can.
Broken- After everything that has happened to him he has low self esteem, he thinks he is worthless and that he doesn't deserve anything better, though when you have someone that you've loved since the age of 13 telling you that it's impossible not to believe. He has spent years being put down in the walls of his home while he worked through school and tried to do better though nothing ever seemed to be good enough.
Soft Spoken- He follows what he is told and rarely speaks up. He isn't a leader, he doesn't like taking control in fear of doing something wrong or sounding stupid. He is quiet and even if he doesn't agree to something that's happened, he will go along with it unless it threatens someone else's well being.
Whatever it is, I'm sorry
I know I can be dramatic
But everybody said we had it
I'm coming to terms with a broken heart
I guess that sometimes good things fall apart
When you said it was real, guess I really did believe you
Another middle child of the Lasse crew, Charlie was deemed the "sensitive" one. He still ran wild with the boys, but was the one who was a bit more reserved, asking his brother if what they were doing was safe, essentially acting as their voice of reason until their making fun of him for being so scared of everything pushed him to stop. He just went with the flow but in the moments that anyone got hurt he was there. He followed his brothers everywhere, especially Leo, his big brother was his role model and wanted to be just as strong as him, though he could never reach it, which is something that haunts him.
Eventually he found solace in a girl named Yasmine. They had met when they were thirteen and clicked instantly. Yasmine came from a troubled home, her parents always fought and struggled with drugs, often causing Yasmine to run away. She would go to Charlie and his family, who treated her as their own and eventually, with Charlie none the wiser, she fell for his family more than she fell for him, she didn't want them to break up due to the fear of losing his sweet and supportive family and while she gave him attention he let it happen, convinced that they were meant to be together forever, they were middles school and eventual high school sweethearts, so many people calling them the "It Couple" everyone wanted a relationship like theirs, but no one knew how cruel Yasmine could be. She had learned a few things from her parents and as they got older she made sure that Charlie didn't get too independent from her, as long as she had her claws hooked into him she was content but at any time he seemed to drift she would pull him back in, threatening to break up with him and every time he fell for it, he was terrified to be alone, believing that he would never be good enough for anyone else.
Did you fake how you feel when we parked down by the river that night?
That night when we fogged up the windows in your best friend's car
'Cause we couldn't leave the windows down in December
Tell me what you hate about me
Whatever it is, I'm sorry
I know I can be dramatic
After they left high school they went to the same college, though there was a strain in their relationship. Charlie wanted to be a doctor, which meant going while to medical school and Yasmine wasn't going to let that happen. She talked down to Charlie, telling him he had no chance to be a doctor. He wasn't a leader, he wouldn't be good enough to be a doctor and that he should settle for being a nurse, though of course he decided to go that route they would be able to go to the same school and Yasmine could keep an eye on him. Charlie obeyed, believing every word but told his family that he believed that as a nurse he could help people better, which wasn't a lie, but his heart yearned for more, though he believed that being with Yasmine was worth taking some losses.
As they pursued their education and careers together they naturally got engaged, but what people didn't see behind the scenes was that while she talking down to and controlled Charlie, Yasmine was constantly cheating on him, but every time it happened she told Charlie, taunting him and telling him that she was doing this because of him. He wasn't doing good enough so it was only natural for her to be looking for pleasure elsewhere and Charlie bought it. Believing he deserved every word she told him and kept his head down. He worked to provide for her and hoped that some day she would stop these escapades. The one thing he asked her for was a child of their own. He saw his sisters beautiful families while also seeing what his brothers went through and decided that he wanted to be a Dad, he believed he was worthy of that. He was a pediatric nurse! But when he asked Yasmine about having at least one baby she turned on him, telling him he was being extremely selfish to ask her of something like that. The fight drug on for a week, she constantly berated him, telling him he would never be good enough and eventually she let it slip that she had gotten an abortion a year prior and yet again blamed Charlie's incompetence for her decision in this, telling him he would be a horrible father.
This was the last straw for Charlie. He stared at Yasmine, finally seeing her for the monster she was, he went silent. He didn't feed into her, instead he focused on finding a new job and place to live, finding a place near his brother Markus and by the next two weeks he left Yasmine. He is still dealing with the fall out, though he has explained to his family what has happened and they support him, though it is still hard for him to come to terms with his failing marriage. They're only separated right now and he isn't sure if he could ever follow through with a divorce and the familiar feeling of failure that would come with it.
