She often acts first and thinks later, a trait that was terrible when she wasn't sober that lead her to a lot of regrets that follow her now. She doesn't have much of a self preservation instinct which leads her to being willing to volunteer for tasks without knowing what they are. Selfish- Having to put herself second for so long has turned her into someone who puts herself first in pursuit of her own happiness and needs. What plans she does make she looks at them in way to benefit her the most and someone else second. In her mind she is the one person who has her own back and can guarantee what happens to her as a result of her actions. She puts herself first in almost every decision and reaction. Dedicated- Even with her track record of taking what she wants without another thought Artemis is a dedicated person. If she says she is going to do something she is going to do it and stick with it. Even now she still loves acting and is part of the school drama club, throwing herself into every project and any role that she gets. She is a hard worker that strives to put her best foot forward into a project and get it doe to its best ability. Direct- She isn't one to step around an issue, preferring to face it head on or at least be honest about it. She isn't someone who will act fake and like nothing is wrong unless she has to be on a façade for the public. In her real life if she doesn't like you it will be known but she will also make the reason by known, believing that every acting has a reaction that is deserved. Well, in most cases. What do you want from me, I'm not America's sweetheart So beat the drum with me, I'm not America's sweetheart Well they say I'm too loud for this town So I lit a match and burned it down What do you want from me, I'm not America's sweetheart Like her bandmates Riell and Aaron Artemis was born into a family of show business royalty. Her grandparents with film stars on both sides of her family and that's how her parents met, tying the knot in a televised special and going on to build their family. Eden and Gordon had three children: Hera, Apollo, and Artemis. Gordon and Eden thought naming their children after some of the Greek Gods would give them a leg up in the world of Hollywood, giving them a sense of strength and purpose. Artemis was the last born but was not doted on, she was treated like her older siblings, put into various classes like dance, acting, etiquette, anything to build their skills to make a name for themselves. They had goals set out for their kids to continue to be successful, getting them acting and modeling jobs as soon as they were able to and acting as their agents. For the majority of her life Artemis followed along. She followed the path of a child star, taking on roles as soon as she could talk. Her prim and proper attitude that didn't allow her to make waves was what got her sought out by directors and producers. Out of her siblings she was the most successful in acting, making her parents proud and for every job well done they rewarded her and in those moments where she acted less than they expected she was given the cold shoulder. The pressure was on from a young age to be absolutely perfect, she wanted to make her parents happy and if that meant acting as a completely different person than the one in her head then so be it. Even as she got older in age she continued to toe the line though on the inside she was getting angry, bottling up every negative emotion and focusing on her work and contribution to the family dynasty. Though as she got older started to find it harder to cope, starting to break from that perfect reputation and snapping at people, even coming close to physical altercations. Her parents were worried that she would start to ruin her reputation so they put her on the path of self medication. You see, they couldn't take her to an actual doctor, that ran the risk of rumors so they showed her ways to cope in the form of small sips of alcohol and the popping of pills that would help her calm down, keep her placid and obedient and for a little while it worked. Doing these sorts of things seemed to be normal until one day Artemis just...snapped. Like nearly ever child star before her she fell and it was hard. She started to abuse the alcohol under her parents noses and get her hands on other forms of 'self medication' sneaking around with other young actors on set and getting into trouble. She started to mouth off to adults, show up late to sets, be snide in interviews and flat out refuse to work. Her anger was becoming too much and she used it to try to take control of her life, much to her parents distain. They felt helpless as they watched their daughter spiral, trying to enact rules to tame her but she refused and eventually the tabloids caught wind, catching pictures of the young teen partying and acting wild, claiming she was the next kid throwing away her life but she ignored them. All she cared about was doing what she wanted and didn't care that she started to lose out on jobs, she only cared about immediate gratification and didn't see what she was doing as wrong. Her own siblings were able to go and act out so why couldn't she? By now she was old enough in her mind to make decisions and she still had one steady role on a tv show where she played a high school student whose main trait was being a drummer who was losing their way in life and for the role she focused on learning to play the instrument herself, finding it fun to be loud and play out her emotions. It became a real life hobby, even after the show was cancelled and she was left with nothing to do but finding music was making her want to break away from acting and enter the world of music and luckily her parents were friends of a family whose kids were starting a band and conveniently needed a drummer. It didn't take long for Artemis to join Riell, Aaron, Della, and Luca and head on the road, finding herself once again in the world of fame and adoration though her reputation continued to follow her as she indulged herself in time away from her parents, who, without her really realizing or caring, were putting distance between their family and her. At the time Artemis didn't care, loving her new sense of freedom where she got to truly make her own decisions. My kind of medicine is whiskey straight I got a mouth to put you in your place, and they They said I'll never be the poster type But they don't make posters of my kind of life It didn't take long for Artemis's habits to rub off on her band mates. Sure Aaron had started parting pretty quick but he was older and almost as lost as Artemis was and Della hadn't been hesitant to throw herself into the party scene but with everyone doing their own thing outside of rehearsals and concerts Artemis noticed that often Riell was left alone so she took her new friend under her wing and took her out into the party world, though she was less than sober during these times Artemis did try to look out for her but as things went on it got harder and harder. Sure the band lived together and got along but when they weren't forced into their routines they were out running wild and doing their own thing. Artemis continued to prove to the world she was no longer their sweet golden child of tv, often dating men older than her, causing trouble, and getting photographed in compromising scenes but she didn't care. She was still making money and doing whatever she wanted...until the incident happened and the band went on hiatus, most of the members coming back to reality and confronting their demons. Consumed with guilt Artemis enrolled in rehab as well and the more sober she got the more clarity returned to her and she realized just how close she was to rock bottom. Her bank account was nothing like it had used to be and her family wasn't speaking to her. She felt more alone than after the only role model she really had was the bands agent David, who she begged to help her clean up her image, thinking that if she fixed her reputation she could get back into acting and make a comeback story. She figured if the band was really going to return to high school it could act as the perfect time to reset and rebuild though nothing could have prepared her for David's proposition. She was given the option to date another up and coming celebrity with a squeaky clean reputation, told that if they created the greatest love story Hollywood had ever seen they would win the love of America while also having a source for future content. They could make movies together, write songs, the whole nine yards, really play up their love for everyone and even in the end, when the couple would eventually break up, there would be even more possibilities for interviews and more content. This proposition, though risky, could be the band aid for Artemis and though she had no idea who her new "boyfriend" was going to be she agreed though when she finally met the man that was supposed to be the love of her life she felt her stomach sour as hate radiated throughout her entire being, stemming from a rocky shared history. In front of the camera's the couple is nothing but love but underneath it all is horrid contempt with constant insults and bitter looks. What do you want from me, I'm not America's sweetheart So beat the drum with me, I'm not America's sweetheart But you love me anyway Family

Welcome to Tidewater!
This is a sandbox style role play that is based in a Southern Californian named Ocean City.
This town is home to a prestigious high school and university that students from all over flock to. The school is home to the best teachers in the state and hosts an eclectic variety of students from all over the world. Students have the option to live on campus and in between classes on the weekend are able to roam the town. There is always some kind of event going on. In this role play you can role play high school students, teachers, college students, and the town residents! We encourage character development and being able to follow your character through different stages of life encourages that.
This town is on the water and offers many events for every season along with the schools offering their own events as well. There are many chances to foster positive relationships between characters but this is a slice of life so drama and enemies are bound to be made!
Also, don't think your secrets are safe because there are those who patrol the tides of gossip and report all the going ons in the town gossip blog. Here everyone’s dirty laundry is presented, it’s up to the characters to believe it and do whatever they want with it.
Our members are funny and brimming with sarcasm, we look forward to our new members so we can add to the student and staff populations while further growing our characters and challenging ourselves in our writing skills. Most of our conversations happen off site in our own chat room, which we have a link posted above in the toggled section, until then if you have any questions go ahead and post them in the CBOX, we will get back to you as soon as possible!
