This is a sandbox style role play that is based in a Southern Californian named Ocean City.
This town is home to a prestigious high school and university that students from all over flock to. The school is home to the best teachers in the state and hosts an eclectic variety of students from all over the world. Students have the option to live on campus and in between classes on the weekend are able to roam the town. There is always some kind of event going on. In this role play you can role play high school students, teachers, college students, and the town residents! We encourage character development and being able to follow your character through different stages of life encourages that.
This town is on the water and offers many events for every season along with the schools offering their own events as well. There are many chances to foster positive relationships between characters but this is a slice of life so drama and enemies are bound to be made!
Also, don't think your secrets are safe because there are those who patrol the tides of gossip and report all the going ons in the town gossip blog. Here everyone’s dirty laundry is presented, it’s up to the characters to believe it and do whatever they want with it.
Our members are funny and brimming with sarcasm, we look forward to our new members so we can add to the student and staff populations while further growing our characters and challenging ourselves in our writing skills. Most of our conversations happen off site in our own chat room, which we have a link posted above in the toggled section, until then if you have any questions go ahead and post them in the CBOX, we will get back to you as soon as possible!
Have fun looking around, we hope to meet you soon!

At this time Tidwater is, unfortunately, on an indefinite hiatus. All active members have regrouped and started a new rol play forum.

She's that girl who likes to have fun, who loves to just sing whenever she wants. She's that girl who wants to make friends with whoever she meets. Riell has that personality that makes people want to know her, know of her. She's the one that can make connections and get things done. She has a creative mind that is always jumbled, producing songs and paintings that could rival almost any professionals. Riell has a bubbly personality and likes to make others smile when she can't make herself truly happy. Riell can never seem to make her mind stop and relax, but when she does, she likes to stay in that moment for as long as she can. Her life has been full of go go go moments and finally she has made the stopping point in her life. A point in her life where she can try to be a normal teenager-something she's never been able to do before. She puts up a strong front, she doesn't want to be weak. She wants to be strong.
Or at least, that's how she is to her fans.
Now that she is out of lime light and stull coping with what has happened to her, Riell is more reserved and serious than ever before. She keeps to herself and throws herself into art work like painting and sculpting. Though she is friendly to other students, she doesn't go out of her way to make friends. She tends to get lost in her thoughts and focus on the task she has at hand instead of branching out as much. Though she wanted to come to this school to make connections and be a normal team she seems to struggle to let loose, afraid that others will see that she isn't what the media has painted her out to be. She has become more unsure and is afraid to try to write or go back to music so soon.
'Cause I could use a hand sometimes
(Yeah, I could use a hand sometimes)
They say pain is an illusion. Riell is the daughter of Mikihil and Sasha Candace, world renown actors and business tycoons who have spent their lives in the lime light of Hollywood. They have been Hollywood's Hottest couple ever since they got together over twenty years ago after meeting on a movie set and staring in one of the most beloved and classic romance movies ever made. The pair still star in movies but have also branched out into fashion design and so many other media outlets, they are the ultimate and most beautiful power couple and are also the creators of America's favorite All American Family. Of course, like all other famous families, the Candace household has had their own reality show that documents the moments from the birth of their eldest son, Aaron all the way to the fourteenth birthday of Riell, when the show ended and so, fame is something Riell is very familiar with.
This is just a bruise.
And you are just confused . -------(But I am only human)------> Every move Riell has made has been documented and seen by all of America and she has been on countless red carpets and has guest starred in a few TV shows while her beloved brother went into modeling and acting as well. Even though they grew up in the lap of luxury, their parents always pushed them to pursue their own passions to support themselves, they always have to work for what they want and so, at the age of thirteen Riell and her brother constructed the band On Our Own, originally made up of her, Aaron, and their cousin Syra. The trio did amazing, but further improved when Riell found Artemis and Luca, she knew wouldn't leave the two alone until the joined On Our Own. With the addition of the twp, Riell felt that the band was complete and they made multiple chart toppers and constantly toured all over the U.S. and Europe. It was amazing. The group lived in a tour bus, getting closer than ever and often goofing around and creating amazing memories. They were young and they were having fun.
The night is bitter cold
I wonder if you know
That I'm sleepless?
But every great thing comes with a price. Like her childhood, every move Riell made was scrutinized and broadcasted. Rumors of alcoholism and drug use soared over the air waves and the band mates couldn't go anywhere without being followed. They all dealt with the harassment in their own ways, but Riell handled it the worse. Every negative thing stuck in her mind and picked at it. Why couldn't people like her? What was she doing wrong? Was the band really going to split up? The lines between reality and the lies began to blur and take a toll on her. Riell's mental state began to weaken until finally...it broke. She couldn't handle it anymore. She felt alone, her parents let them be independent, not really being parents at all. Riell hid her anguish well until finally...she gave up. She couldn't speak, she lost it all. She was found by her bandmates in the back of their tour bus muttering nonsense to herself and crying, rocking back and forth in the fetal position, she had had a mental break down. She had lost it, her mind was shattered, not from drug use, not from alcohol, but from the harsh lies and words from the paparazzi and the "haters". She had tried to keep up a strong front, but in the end that front ended up doing more harm than good.
------Waitin' like a ghost------>
(When I need you the most) <------I go unnoticed-------
Not knowing what to do, Aaron took responsibility and admitted Riell into one of the best rehab hospitals in all of California that catered to the stars. Miraculously the news of Riell's mental break down was kept a secret and to this day no one knows of what happened except for her bandmates and her parents.
After a year in rehab, Riell decided to further her break from the whirlwind famous world of celebs, her bandmates quickly agreeing, saying that Rock-Away was ready for a hiatus, they had had their Golden Age and it was going to be alright to stay on a break, especially if it helped Riell's mental health. After a while though, Riell got bored with just sitting around and so, she had convinced her parents to let her attend Tidewater High School so that she could get a taste of a normal teenage life without camera's-even though the paparazzi still worm their way through to snap pictures and make stories about her and the band. Riell is still trying to not let all the negative words hurt her, she doesn't want to relapse, but still, it gets hard.
The weight of the world is pullin' me down
(Where are you now, where are you now?)
Every breath feels like I'm gonna drown
(Where are you now, where are you now?)
Riell is trying to make a new start for herself, to build herself back up and strengthen her mental health. She see's a counselor at least three times a week to make sure that everything is going alright and with that, she's starting to feel more confident in herself, choosing to express herself through art work and song writing like she use to, but now with more passion. She still doesn't let anyone know of what happened to her, she wants to stay strong and still isn't sure if she can trust anyone. She runs a lot off of her emotions and prays that she won't be steered wrong by them. Over the years she has lost and gained a lot and is still on a long journey to becoming the person she wants to be: a woman who can live with no regrets and smile because she truly is, from the bottom of her heart, happy.
