This is a sandbox style role play that is based in a Southern Californian named Ocean City.
This town is home to a prestigious high school and university that students from all over flock to. The school is home to the best teachers in the state and hosts an eclectic variety of students from all over the world. Students have the option to live on campus and in between classes on the weekend are able to roam the town. There is always some kind of event going on. In this role play you can role play high school students, teachers, college students, and the town residents! We encourage character development and being able to follow your character through different stages of life encourages that.
This town is on the water and offers many events for every season along with the schools offering their own events as well. There are many chances to foster positive relationships between characters but this is a slice of life so drama and enemies are bound to be made!
Also, don't think your secrets are safe because there are those who patrol the tides of gossip and report all the going ons in the town gossip blog. Here everyone’s dirty laundry is presented, it’s up to the characters to believe it and do whatever they want with it.
Our members are funny and brimming with sarcasm, we look forward to our new members so we can add to the student and staff populations while further growing our characters and challenging ourselves in our writing skills. Most of our conversations happen off site in our own chat room, which we have a link posted above in the toggled section, until then if you have any questions go ahead and post them in the CBOX, we will get back to you as soon as possible!
Have fun looking around, we hope to meet you soon!

At this time Tidwater is, unfortunately, on an indefinite hiatus. All active members have regrouped and started a new rol play forum.
If you would like to join us, it is located here.
Boisterous- Rosco is always loud, especially with his group of friends. He's ready to go and have fun and doesn't care if people think he is obnoxious. He's here for a good time, not a long time and usually feeds off the energy of the crowd that he's in.
Adventurous- He's up for anything. He loves he outdoors from hiking to hunting and mudding. He often doesn't think things through and if he should prioritize his time. He doesn't fear much of anything except for relationships.
Athletic- Rosco burns a lot of energy playing sports, he has a sport for every season and even when school is out he's in the gym working out or doing something to build muscle. Simple- Maybe it's from all the knocks to the head or good ole genetics, but Rosco isn't the most intelligent. His grades are average and he doesn't seem to worry much about anything or stress out about things that would normally bother someone else. His care free attitude can vex some, but he doesn't seem to notice. Though he does tend to cheer people up with his easy going personality.
Shortsighted- Rosco doesn't think much about his future. He had time taken away from him and doesn't want that to happen again, but he still wants to enjoy life and doesn't really think of his actions, like the out comes of pranks or if he skips class.
I'm by myself
And why won't no one help?
I know this can't be healthy
So I'm lookin' for a way out
Tryna find the beauty in the let down, goin' through my texts now
Unknown to him, Rosco is the biological son of his uncle and Tidewater teacher, Markus Lasse, a result of a teen pregnancy where his mother didn't want him and Dad was unequipped to care for him. Lucky enough for Rosco, he had family that would take him in. One of Markus's sister and her husband agreed to adopt the baby and since then, the truth has been kept a secret. Growing up Markus was the fun uncle and due to their mothers having married brothers, Rosco spent a lot of time with his cousin Vaya. Though their personalities are vastly different, they had fun together and went to school together, though as they got older the two fell into different social groups and rarely interacted. Rosco was part of the popular crowd, Vaya...not so much. He felt guilty not hanging out with his cousin, but she seemed like she didn't want to be bothered, so he let it be.
Every weekend, even as a freshman, was full of parties and drinking out on dirt roads. It was great, he was part of the football team and he had a hot girlfriend that wanted to spend every second with him. It was all great...until it wasn't. In the summer between his freshman and sophomore years Rosco lost interest in his girlfriend and decided to break up with her so he could go have fun with his friends and not have to worry about her getting mad at him for not giving her all of his attention. He thought everything was fine until school started. It was subtle at first, some people weren't talking to him while others gave him the side eye then it got worse. Some people would make remarks to him about how shitty he was to his ex, but he didn't understand. His friends started to pull away from him until he felt like an outsider amongst the people he grew up and he was starting to spend more nights at home or by himself, it was confusing.
Then one day his friends invited him out to a party and excited that he was finally being talked to, he went to join them in the woods. but instead of smoking weed and drinking while acting like idiots, he was surrounded by people he once called his friends, all of them yelling at him. Calling him a woman beater and telling him he was better off dead before they went in on him, Rosco tried to fight back, but it was no use, there was too many of them and when they were done beating him, they left him there to die and for a minute, he wanted to die-then his phone rang. He mustered enough strength to answer, Vaya asking him where he was since he was missing family dinner. If it wasn't for that call he probably would be dead.
You would think that laying in the hospital would be where it all ended, instead the police arrived and told him he would be under house arrest, charged with domestic violence against his girlfriend. He was at a complete loss. He had never raised his hand to anyone and yet here were the cops. He spent 3 months at home, recovering from the fight and dealing with court details that made his head spin. Everything was so overwhelming that he couldn't keep up with school work and then the incident with Vaya happened and their parents knew it wouldn't be wise to let the two go back to their school. Instead they decided that Vaya and Rosco would be better off at Tidewater, where Markus could keep an eye on them. Because of everything that happened Rosco was held back, but he didn't mind. He was glad to be out of there, but the memories still haunt him.
Tryna find the things I never said to prove a point
I'ma roll my feelings in a joint
Pieces of the story that got left out, I checked out
Wish it was, I wish it was, I wish it was a phase
Nothing you can do and there's nothing you can say
