This is a sandbox style role play that is based in a Southern Californian named Ocean City.
This town is home to a prestigious high school and university that students from all over flock to. The school is home to the best teachers in the state and hosts an eclectic variety of students from all over the world. Students have the option to live on campus and in between classes on the weekend are able to roam the town. There is always some kind of event going on. In this role play you can role play high school students, teachers, college students, and the town residents! We encourage character development and being able to follow your character through different stages of life encourages that.
This town is on the water and offers many events for every season along with the schools offering their own events as well. There are many chances to foster positive relationships between characters but this is a slice of life so drama and enemies are bound to be made!
Also, don't think your secrets are safe because there are those who patrol the tides of gossip and report all the going ons in the town gossip blog. Here everyone’s dirty laundry is presented, it’s up to the characters to believe it and do whatever they want with it.
Our members are funny and brimming with sarcasm, we look forward to our new members so we can add to the student and staff populations while further growing our characters and challenging ourselves in our writing skills. Most of our conversations happen off site in our own chat room, which we have a link posted above in the toggled section, until then if you have any questions go ahead and post them in the CBOX, we will get back to you as soon as possible!
Have fun looking around, we hope to meet you soon!

At this time Tidwater is, unfortunately, on an indefinite hiatus. All active members have regrouped and started a new rol play forum.

A singer in a smoky room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile, they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Naive dreams become like broken crayons we cry over them a little and yet we continue to paint with those broken pieces
“Kaleb, where is your sister?”
Kaleb was just about to open his mouth to tell his mom she was with friends, even though he knew she who she was with was someone who she wouldn’t like, when Finley herself burst through the door crying. Finley walked past kitchen and upstairs to her bedroom and plopped down on the bed, crying into the pillow. ‘How could they do this to me?’ she thought as she let out a loud sob as she heard the door to her room open a crack and a quiet knock came. “Finley, what happened?” Her mother didn’t wait to ask if it was okay to come in and stepped in to sit on the bed next to her. She felt her mothers hand begin to rub her back like she always did when she was crying over something.
Finley tried to stop crying, but it was hard. After ten minutes of chest racking sobs the tears slowed to a trickle and she was able to sit up and hug her mom. “Mom, why are boys so mean.” She asked, though she knew it was because she had fallen for Dylan, the school’s hottest bad boy. He constantly told her he loved her, but she often found him telling other girls something similar, and today, he caught him kissing her best friend; Mary.
Finley’s mom smiled and hugged her close. “Honey, I love you and I hate to see you hurt,” this was the same line she’d heard a hundred times already after being hurt by Dylan, and then taking him back whenever he claimed he was sorry and that he would change. “But you know Dylan, how many times has he done this already?”
“Too many times,” Finley admitted, knowing she had let Dylan walk all over her. “But now, Mary, she’s… she’s…” She couldn’t get the sentence out before she started crying all over again. She didn’t understand how her best friend could betray her like this. One minute they were sharing secrets together, telling each other who they crushed on, and the next thing Finley knew, Mary and Dylan were making out. This made her wonder what else they’d done together, and who else Dylan had been kissing behind her back.
Her mom stood up and sighed, “I was going to surprise you and your brother later this week, but I think it’ll be better to tell you two now. Wash up and come to the kitchen when you’re ready.” Her mother walked out and left her alone. Finley washed her face, trying to get her puffy red eyes to calm down before heading downstairs; it was, for the most part, a failed attempt, but they were less red, and her face did feel less puffy.
“Alright mom, what’s the news?” She asked once she pulled put a chair and took a seat, Kaleb sitting in the seat next to her, waiting for her mom to finish cleaning the dishes.
“Well, the school I told you two about, Tidewater?” She started out, and Finley remembered looking over the brochures and loving the place, but back then she didn’t want to leave Dylan or Mary. “And I just got a call that they have accepted both of you!” she smiled brightly and clapped her hands.
Kaleb was excited, as always, they had a fantastic football team and he had big dreams of using it to go to college. Finley didn’t show enthusiasm at first, thinking of course of Dylan and Mary again, but all she could picture was them kissing behind the school gym where she’d caught them. Now, she smiled. “That’s great mom, when do we start?”
She was suddenly optimistic and excited to start a new journey and leave her old life, Dylan and Mary included, behind.
